In the 1980s Astronomer Carl Sagan recognised the symbiotic relationship we have with Mars, the red planet. He was an advocate for its exploration and pointed out how science coming from it has inspired science fiction and culture at large.
NASA's Mars rover landed on February 18 2021, and never has a science mission gone to the planet with such a sophisticated set of instruments.
